One of the most fascinating topics that I have learned about during the last years, is the pineal gland. There is so much to talk about, but I will start out with the basic.
The third eye and the pineal gland are two terms that are often used interchangeably. In spirituality, the third eye is often seen as a spiritual center associated with intuition, inner wisdom, and spiritual perception. The pineal gland, on the other hand, is a small gland in the brain that plays an important role in the production of melatonin and other hormones, and is capable of producing something called pinoline from melatonin, which in turn produces DMT molecules.
These DMT molecules are then intermittently released into the blood and are thought to be responsible for out-of-body experiences, lucid dreaming, clairvoyant moments, and some other paranormal abilities.
What is the Third Eye?

What is the pineal gland?
The pineal gland is a small gland in the center of the brain that plays an important role in the production of melatonin and other hormones. Melatonin is a hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. It is also associated with the regulation of mood, appetite, and immune function.
The pineal gland has also been associated with spiritual experiences. Many spiritual people believe that it plays a role in the perception of supernatural phenomena such as clairvoyance, astral travel, and vivid dreams.
It is explained by investigative researchers and also by spiritually oriented people that governments and the pharmaceutical industry have deliberately propagandized to put harmful fluoride in drinking water, which weakens the pineal gland and its abilities. The Vatican has also been implicated in this conspiracy. Such evidence has been obtained by investigators and shows amazing connections. These have not yet been proven, but there are several independent studies that confirm them.
Connection between the Third Eye and the Pineal Gland
There has been incontrovertible evidence for centuries and longer that the third eye and the pineal gland are connected. Studies (see below) have shown that people who report extraordinary perceptual experiences often have increased activity in the pineal gland.

Interestingly, recent studies by Rick Strassmann suggest that there is a direct link between DMT molecules, heightened states of consciousness, the pineal gland, and the third eye.
